Well it won't be the first camera I've owned that was eventually discontinued. And I doubt I will replace either of my 2 M5 bodies. For me they fill a niche, relatively small and lightweight cameras that produce nice images and are easy to use.  I owned the original M and later an M3 but I sold them when I moved to the M5. My old eyes just can't deal with cameras without some kind of viewfinder and I prefer the fixed one of the M5 to the removable EVF on other models. I don't shoot much video which seems to be an improved feature on many newer M series cameras and for me the differences in image quality on newer bodies just isn't worth the cost to upgrade for me.  So I will stick with the M5. I also own the EOS R and a 7D MKII and am considering selling both of those in favor of the R6.
