Re: Am I the only one "put out" about no GPS in R5 or R6?

There are two points of view spoken here. No one has said they actually tried to use the phone connection for GPS.  Is it bluetooth or wifi.   I suspect it is wifi with the R5 because the R5 can for some users stream all of the images shot through wifi to the Canon Internet Site.

I hate things that are not robust and work reliably.  Is that not really what the fear it here.  If I have my phone with me will the GPS data showing my location appear reliably in every shot I take?  Isn't that the concern that such links many times need to be babied and verified to be working or you can not expect the data to be there.  This is one more annoying thing to take care to get a picture shoot done right.

Presumably if the GPS is built into the camera then it seems like there is less to go wrong and nothing need to tested or verified to make sure that it is working for this shoot.  If it is built in it may be more reliable and less fuss.

So the question I have is has any one actually used the GPS in the phone synced to the R5 for multiple shoots and did the GPS data get into all the EXIF files.  What I am asking is does it acutually reliaby work without extra fuss and bother when the GPS is in the phone???

I wonder since the the R5 is new no one has tested this feature yet.
