I haven't really noticed it before but the second glass inside (starting from the mount-side) is moving freely when I tilt the lens unmounted. It focuses fine and zoom is good. However, the LCD/Viewfinder will flicker if I turn the zoom ring while trying to focus. Is this normal? I fear that my 2 year old son might have damaged it when he got in my camera bag. I recently updated my X-T1 to v4.0 as well so I can't remember it happening before (firmware bug??). Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I recently noticed that my 16 55 also has this internal movement. Do you think this is normal? I often get the message to turn the camera off and on again (X-E3) . Thank you

I'd recommend to check if you attach 16-55 properly to X-E3, sometimes it may be slightly offset radially and contacts don't connect properly with camera contacts.

Internal movement in XF 16-55 is normal when it is powered off, because focusing group is supported with electromagnets, and when there are no power - focusing group is sliding freely on guiding poles.
