Re: Need advice regarding buying an EOS RP

I quite like the RP, it’s a great little camera, but with an old sensor. So I would reconsider the decision once you are actually buying.

The RF 35 is a good pairing with the RP, not the most outstanding lens, but still very enjoyable to use. The RF 600 & 800 I would stay away from based on the sample photos out. That does force you into adapting or the much more expensive 100-500.

FWIW, I recommended my brother buying the RP with the 24-240 and RF 35 last year, this year I would recommend waiting for the Sony A5 and get the tamron 28-200 and samyang 45 1.8. The canon R5 is the worlds best camera, but the cheaper options are a bit dated now, and it’s more difficult to buy lenses.

i would recommend getting the R6 and EF glass, if it weren’t for the fact that you did not want to adapt, and personally I am ditching all adapted glass. It does work better on canon than on Sony though. I don’t think the R6 is worth the price currently, but that could change by the time you are ready to buy.
