Banding in video

This isn't a new issue, but I'm just wondering if there is an easy way to avoid this, or at least deal with it in post.

The issue I'm referring to is the swirling lines that are found on areas of a single colour, for example on a plain wall surface.

Is the issue related to bitrate in the edited video? Is there anything I can do to avoid it happening, for example shooting in Gamma DR or C, and is it to do with the grading? I'm mainly using Kinemaster.
