Can the low pass filter be removed from an EOS R?

We've got an EOS R taking high-magnification images in a scientific setup. I'm wondering if I can squeeze out a bit more resolution by having the low-pass filter removed from the camera. I found a service, but the EOS R isn't specifically listed: https://www.lifepixel.com/shop/our-services/anti-aliasing-filter-removal/canon-dslr-anti-aliasing-filter-removal

I know the 5DSR apparently comes without an LP filter, but we need a mirrorless solution (because of tethering reasons).

Has anyone tried removing the LP filter and had success?
