Canon EF-S 10-18mm on FF mirrorless with mount swap

I’ve been interested in using this lens on RP without crop. But since it is EF-S, firmware in RP auto-crops.

Then there is this mount swap for this lens:

Metal Bayonet Mount EF-S to EF Repair Parts Lens Converter Adapter for Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 is Lens Digital SLR Camera Lens Mount Converter

Besides converting plastic mount to metal, is EF-S lens mechanical or electronic? Would this mount swap allow the RP to not think it is an APS-C lens?

There is a version for the EF-S 10-22, but that lens already has a metal mount, so what’s the point of that mount swap? Is it to Just limit the lens zoom travel and avoid mirror hitting in DSLR? Or does it make it appear like an EF lens?

I’ve been looking at the Tamron 10-24 VC HLD because it is an EF mount and can do FF down to 13mm, is compact and has IS. But it is more expensive and if the Canon EF-S can be made to look like EF on the mirrorless and not crop, that would be a viable alternative.
