Blanking the Brand

How come when a camera appears in movies and TV news and programs, the brand is often blurred or blanked out, and other times not?

I mean, for example, if a character takes a picture in the course of the story.

Can you tell what camera it is? Like Canon lenses are white, is a giveaway, and Nikon's have the red fleck, or whatever it's called.

Thanks.
