If I expose to the ground , in the evf I can set a mode that will show the burned sky in orange .

So the camera already knows where are the areas that require different exposure.

I think the main reason a lot of us use a GND is to see the effect in the viewfinder on-site. Then, you can frame and compose accordingly. I rarely take exactly the same photo with the GND as without, especially when there are clouds in the sky that aren't visible without the GND.
