Is the Tamron 18-200 di III vc really that bad or is there something wrong here?

Hello,

coming home from arecent trip I was up for a bad surprise when I looked at the photos taken with an a6300 and the Tamron 18-200 di III VC. The edges are extremely unsharp, even blurry.

I know that a superzoom lens isn't going to be crazy but the images are unusable and only sharp in the centre.

The example photo wasn't even at the extremes. It was taken at 30mm and stopped down to f8.

So i was wondering if I am just overreacting or if there is something seriously wrong.

I have had this lens for while and never noticed it that much.

Thank you

Example at 30mm and f8
