Sorry, couldn't resist. Ship jumpers and hand wringers took a toll on my patience lately.
Yet I really bought a g9, cheaper that my wife's paid in 2012 or so for her GX7... go figure!
BTW, if you live in Canada you'll find out that the body alone is priced most places at CAN$1495. This does not reflect the price of US$995. If you look around a bit though you should find the right price which is CAN1349$ in canadian currency.
To finish: I love that camera already to a surprising degree.
Debating the G95 or G9 as an upgrade from my G85. That G9 looks VERY tempting.
Well, it is hard to go wrong with either wouldn't you say? And the G9 is as cheap as it will ever get I guess. It is weighty though at 960 grams gripped and with battery, 1250 grams with the 14-140 on its face. This is nearly 100 grams heavier that the E-M1X but 300 grams less than a gripped Nikon 810D.
I guess one of you Panny users could tell me this, what is the best Panny camera for shooting long series of bursts....is there any that do 8 fps
The G9 can do that in JPEG fine, not in raw, using a Lexar 1665X UHS-II, rated V60. The best card I've seen were rated at V90. They might do it but it would be tight.
or above until the memory card is full and which one does it the fastest? Also do any Panny cameras not have a shutter speed limit for the fully electronic shutter? I want to use it for astro like I do with my Oly cameras and need long exposures of 15 sec or more and need the camera to be able to do that with the fully electronic shutter at any ISO. Thanks!
The G9 longest exposure with electronic shutter is 1" it seems.
Thanks is 8 fps the peak frame rate on the camera to fill up the memory card or can it go even faster than that?
In the specs it is rated at 9 fps for 600 frames.
JPG Fine, is that 20 MP or 16 MP?
20 MP
There is a 6K photo mode that renders to 18 MP. It really is a clip from which one can extract the frames. I don't know what the compression would do to them but I've seen neat examples.
