Macro shots from this week at 8.5-10x magnification

Focus stacks using my Olympus EM1 Mark 2 camera, MC-20 teleconverter, PIXCO 16mm extension tube modified, Olympus 60mm macro lens and the Raynox 505 macro filter.  Used focus bracketing for 100-250 shots and then stacked the images in Helicon.

The bottom of a cow killer (velvet ant).  2.5mm field of view

Single sand garnet stacked on possibly magnetite.  Garnet is 1/6th of a millimeter in diameter.

The shed head cap of a Phidippus clarus jumping spider, complete with a nice reflection on the bottom.  2mm field of view

1/4mm sand garnet on a grain of possibly agate sand.  Both from Bandon, Oregon

Live Habronattus coecatus jumping spider  (used the Raynox 250 for this one)

4 sand garnets at less than 1/4mm wide that I placed inside an opened egg of a stink bug.

Pelagrina Proterva male jumping spider holding a sand garnet in his pedipalps.

an amazing sand garnet balanced on another grain of sand, both from Bandon, Oregon.  Garnet is just about 1/3mm in width.
