Perseids 2020
3

The Perseids meteors are just starting to fly across the sky and should peak between 11th - 13th August.

Had a go for an hour or so last night and managed to capture a couple.................

Still finding manual focus a pain!!!

Obviously, the longer one can have the shutter open, the more meteors one is likely to capture on one photo but one has to take into account that if you use long exposures you get the undesirable "star trails" so one has to use the "500" rule to give you the maximum exposure time to prevent this - ET=500/(CF*FL).

The RX10 crop factor is 2.73 and my Focal Length was 8.2 so according to this rule I should have kept my exposure down to 20secs.

I think I'll try a couple of 1 minute exposures next time just to see what it looks like, bring the ISO down to accommodate this!
