Hi,

I am Olympus casual shooter that would like to have telephoto lens with more reach (the longest lens I have now is 14-150 F4-F5.6). I am considering between the 2 lenses (100-400 vs 40-150+TC). Do you think which option can deliver "better" image/AF/etc.?

Cheers!

If you replace the 14-150 with the 40-150 Pro (and backfill the <40mm range with another lens) then you will have a major upgrade to the system's best mid-tele. The Pro zoom is quite good with the MC20 but I don't wish to claim it's as good as the two 400mm zooms at the longer focal lengths. Pretty good though, in my experience. If your emphasis is adding the 150-400 range to your kit while keeping the 14-150, then the Pro zoom might not be the path. But if you were to swap the zoom for the 14-150 then you'll end up ahead.

Good luck!

Rick
