Re: CPC 300/5.6 Mirror + Minolta 200/4 (NEOWISE)

Thanks for the tips!

When I tried doing my first moonshots with a 400mm Telemegor mounted on a Pentax Q (5.5x crop factor, so a 2200mm equivalent!), I used a clip-on viewfinder because the Q doesn't have an EVF; I remember that working fairly well, but it certainly helped that the Telemegor has a verylong snout that I could sight along. The Tamron 500 is much shorter, but at least the moon was a lot easier to find. The comet was faint enough that I didn't have the sky brighten as I came close to the location.

When I was working with the Tamron 80-200, I first used binocs to find NEOWISE in relation to Ursa Major; then once I had that, used the rightmost stars of the Dipper's bowl as a reference and started sweeping the camera from there.
