Zoom and a background question

Asking for a friend, seriously. My setup works fine.

This friend would like to use one of his photos for his virtual background, and has no problem installing it on his setup. The background looks fine, but he himself becomes pixelated and broken up.

He has a Dell Laptop/tablet, a few years old, running Windows 10, Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7Y75 CPU @ 1.30GHz, 1601 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s), the latest version of Zoom, 5.20, and an I7, 7th generation, Intel processor. He thinks it meets minimum requirements for Zoom. When he  clicks  the statement at the bottom of the background page that says "I have a green screen" and turn it off, he  gest a message that his processor does not meet minimum requirements.

Any ideas for my friend.  Unfortunately, I don't have a teenager to help us.

Thanks.
