I'm keeping my RP and I'm happy about it!
*26 megapixels to use any way I see fit (more than the R6, mind you - and we all know more is better).
That's the biggest problem of the R6 and R5. The R6 is relatively affordable, but to much of a downgrade for resolution. The R5 is too expensive for now.
*I can shoot in crop at 10.1 megapixels, which is just as many as our Rebel XS had. Plenty for 8 x 10's.
*When I'm going through vacation photo edits and comparing with our Rebel we brought along - no blown highlights for the RP but some unrecoverable with the Rebel. Plenty of dynamic range for my simple needs.
*Plenty of stabilization in the lenses. When did everyone develop Parkinson's anyway? A couple grand $$ more for IBIS or a couple hundred $$ for a tripod?
I have some primes which i would love to have stabilized.
*Dual cards? Whatever. Cards are just an added cost. What do I want to buy two for? If we expect our cards to fail, we're clearly buying the wrong cards!
I don't need no fancy R5's or R6's or nothing. Even if I had $4,000 laying around burning a hole in my pocket, I'd still keep my RP and probably feed my kids or something. If Fro hooks me up in the Super Huger $5,000 camera giveaway - I'll probably get lenses for the RP and something in the M's for a second camera (not one body and a kit lens).
There. I feel better.
You do?
Thought I'd post a final thread about the RP as everyone else moves on. Any other RP owners feel free to sing it's praises in thread!
I really want that R5, but it's simply to expensive. The AF seams to be awesome, no kidding.
