Explain the cost of the LP-E6NH battery - please!
4

Someone help me understand this, the LP-E6NH battery in the new cameras (was lucky enough to be able to buy an R5 yesterday in a retail store) is more than double the cost of the old battery. The LP-E6NH has a 14% performance increase over the old battery, for errrrr double the price. So if I am looking at getting a second battery as backup for the same amount of money I can have one newer battery for $200 Aus dollarydoos (yes that is the real name of Australian currency), or I can buy two of the older batteries.

I am just really struggling to understand Canons reasoning here (yes, I know that is a fools errand), what is the point of effectively pricing yourself out of the market vs your own products?

Am I missing something?
