Re: Focusing Problem w/ Sigma Art Lens - Should I Ditch It for Tamron?

I bought two SIGMA ART lenses - the 24 and the 50.

I love the 50.

But had horrendous back focus issues with the 24 - minus 19, if I remember correctly - and the camera could only go as far as plus or minus 20.

It struck me that such a wide range of error might get "fixed" at one focal length but still be out of whack at another.  And in any case, I intended using it on more than one camera, so the idea of multiple back focus corrections and the magnitude of the error drove me to ditching the lens.

So I switched to a different w/angle.

Later, I was told by another shop (which specialises in SIGMA gear) that I should have brought it to them - they would have gotten it fixed by SIGMA.  Sadly, that was too late for me - I'd already traded it in and lost half the original purchase price
