I have the 40-150 oly pro and the 1.4 & 2 ext.

The lens on it`s own (on my G9) is the most enjoyable lens I have ever owned in 50 years, it rarely lets me down and with it`s close focus ability it is my go to lens for flowers and bees etc. I don`t print big anymore so can crop and the IQ is (IMHO) second to none. With the 1.4 on the IQ is around the same as my PL100-400 at that focal range and it never seems to suffer that annoying hot day heat haze. With the 2x on the IQ does drop a touch but it is still very usable. I have two bodies and the 40-150 pro is on one all the time and the PL12-60 is on the other.

Out of interest I don`t like the supplied hood on the 40-150, I know from others that it might fall apart and to be honest I purchased a metal screw in hood of about 30mm that stays on all the time and have never had any problems with flare and makes the lens a lot more comfortable to  use plus it looks good.

Good luck with your choice but what ever you choose for the reach you require I honestly think that the 40-150 pro should be in every persons kit because it is that good.
