Nikkor 200-500 Catches a Peregrine in Flight
16

During some recent trips to the Mormon Lake Overlook to photograph birds, I've had the pleasure of observing peregrine falcons hunting along the rim. There's a shallow ravine running from the rim to the lakebed below and the quality of the flow of the southwesterly winds coming across the lake and up through the ravine is such that a lot of birds like soaring here. This peregrine was riding the summer breeze while in search of an early-day snack on Monday.
