Is Spot Metering Relevant?

I am a wildlife photographer using a Sony A9 and a Sony 200 - 600 mm G OSS lens.  I shoot totally manual so I control my shutter speed, aperture and ISO.  When I look through the EVF, I can see what my exposure is essentially going to look like.  I generally use center-weighted metering but was using spot metering on a perched bird the other day.  However, since I set my own exposure shooting manual, is there any relevance to spot metering?  That is, I could use center-weighted metering, average metering where the entire frame is averaged or spot metering.  Choosing one over the other might get me where I want to be exposure-wise faster depending on my subject but is there any specific usefulness to, say, spot metering?
