80mm macro or 60mm macro

hello,

I love my sigma 105mm macro f2.8 OS. Sharpest lens i've ever used. Also, its a true 1:1 ratio macro lens which can be really awesome. The Fujifilm 80mm macro, which is a 1:1 magnification, is stupendously expensive.

I was curious whether the 60mm "macro" is a reasonable substitute, but I read it's 0.5x magnification not a true 1:1.  Can it still be used for great macro work? Or is the name misleading?

I'm not convinced my previous macro outings truly need 1:1. But the focal length on crop sensor Canons has allowed me to get really close from not too close in.
