Laser Pointer
1

I've got a Tamron 500/8 55BB mirror that I tried using the first night I found NEOWISE, but I had no luck at all finding it with that high mag. I've thought about using one of the clip-on rangefinders to help, but not sure they're precise enough.

If you can see the object with your eyes (or know where it should be), a laser pointer is often the easiest way to point a telescope.

For a camera, maybe use something like these to attach the laser pointer to the hot shoe. Tighten everything down. Point the lens at something distant (like a mast, tree, or tower) and then align the laser pointer.
