Re: NX5 forgetting date/time

As of yesterday, my NX5 has contracted "what-day-is-it-itis" when I change the battery, requiring the date and time to be re-entered when the camera is switched back on.
This is not a symptom I'm unfamiliar with, my old FinePix struggled on for several years with the same condition. At least the NX5 doesn't forget the frame number as well
Has any work been done to establish what component (battery cell or capacitor) has failed, where it's located and the practicality of replacement?
As it's a sunny Sunday morning here, and there are better things to do, I trust you won't mind me simply posting this - copied from my reply in a recent thread on the same subject?

The internal battery on my Samsung NX300 won't hold a charge and thus the date / time is continually wrong. Is it a bad battery, or maybe a bad capacitor? Thanks, MikeSor
Only a few days ago I tried my own NX300, after leaving it in a drawer for several months - and yes, the battery was flat and the date/time needed resetting... and those were then lost afresh when I removed and reinserted a charged battery.
Good news for me though was that it did settle (after leaving it with a charged battery in it for a day or so), and now works as it had done previously... although I've not left it without a battery in it for more than a few minutes.
Some time back I had a very similar experience with the NX3000 - which needed a little longer, but did eventually respond in the same way! [That one has the benefit of USB charging, so is easier to "top up" occasionally, which I now try to remember to do!]
So I'd recommend persevering, as the capacitor - or whatever it is inside - does seem capable of being revived.
Good luck,
Peter

I've just swapped batteries again in the NX300 - without it losing date/time setting - so will repeat the advice to persevere!
