The sensor in both cameras behaves almost the same - except for Color Sensitivity (the a6500 is better) https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Sony-A6500-versus-Sony-A6600___1127_1347 When do you notice the noise? What ISO? Do you push shadows?

I agree, and the a6300, a6500, & a6600 are almost identical in all perfomance, accross the board, since they all share the exact same imaging sensor. Check out the 'Color Sensitivity', the a6600 falls short, for some reason?!

That is exactly why upgrading to any of the new a6100, a6400, or a6600 made no sense for me to upgrade. Using the same sensor in five (5) cameras was lazy, and done to cut costs, and/or segment from FF. Since my two zoom lenses have OSS, the upgrade was not worth it to me, and I did not need the IBIS, bigger battery, for twice the price of the a6600.

Hopefully the a6600 successor will come with a much better sensor, joy stick, faster memory card(s), better EVF, better IBIS, bigger buffer, front dial, better video, etc, etc... IF that ever happens, I may consider upgrading. Until then, I will be enjoying the hell out of my trusty old a6300.

Sony really need to up their game to keep them competitive with the competition soon! If not, they will lose a lot of customers. Also, if you PP RAW files, I can do wonders with my images in Capture One Pro.
