R5 vs. R6 -- cropping potential

The R5 is a good bit more expensive and also a little heavier compared to the R6. The R5 has ~50% more linear resolution compared to the R6.

The R6's 20 MP would be enough for me, basically... as final output resolution.

But... since Canon makes really fine super tele lenses (EF 100-400II, probably also the upcoming 100-500) I am asking myself, if the increased resolution of the R5 ("1,5x sensor TC" when cropping in) might be well worth the extra penny.

Any experiences from people here with good glass an high resolution cams? Is my guess right that good modern glass (see above) allows for quite some cropping on high-res bodies?

For example, could one assume that the R5+RF70-200mm could (roughly) match the output resolution of the R6+EF300mm at the long end?

Output devices would be 4k screens, no prints.
