Agreed. Excellent portraits wide open at 55mm. Center is still very sharp and the bokeh is really nice. There's also pretty decent magnification and close-up IQ fully extended.

Here's the MTF per focal length from Lenstip, although you really won't notice these curves much in real life.

It’s really very good no matter what you do with it
