Anyone have any recommendation for a small to medium sized bounce/swivel flash for the Rp? Just for use indoors in a typical home or occasional fill flash.

Godox TT350-C ($85) or TT685-C  ($110) if you don't need the extended battery life of the li-on packs used by the V350-C  ($160) / V860II-C ($180).

They're much less expensive than the Canon speedlites, but they have built-in radio triggering, like the Canon RT models, can do cross-brand TTL/HSS, and are part of a much larger lighting system that scales all the way up to studio strobes, if you get into off-camera lighting (which is why we care about built-in radio triggering).

The TT350/V350 mini speedlight models, though, only swivel 270º and run on 2xAAs and so aren't as powerful or recycle as fast as the full-sized models. They also don't have a recycle beep, and lack a sync port and external battery pack port But. They're also smaller and lighter which is handy with a smaller mirrorless body.

I had a 430EX 10+ years ago when I had a Rebel and it did the job fine.

If you still have it, it still will. Ditto the 430EX II.  But there's no built-in radio communication, like the RT models.

Anything better that isn't too large? How does the new EL-100 compare?

AFAICT, the EL-100 is sort of the Canon version of the TT350.   A flash designed specifically to balance well on the EOS M and EOS R mirrorless bodies.  It's definitely got a nicer feature set for on-camera use vs. a TT350 (particularly in terms of swivel), but no built-in radio triggering.
