Yeah, I am really disappointed with this tweet from Gerald. I am a member on his YouTube channel and this kind of unclear post is not what I would have expected from him.Interesting.....I wonder if ‘regular’ 4K could be shot?
which part did you not understand?Yeah, I am really disappointed with this tweet from Gerald. I am a member on his YouTube channel and this kind of unclear post is not what I would have expected from him.Interesting.....I wonder if ‘regular’ 4K could be shot?
Little details go along way.
Gerland is one of the most sound voices on technical matters when it comes to Cameras. id check out his youtube videos before making such broad statements, or at least post your R5 tests so we can witness your expertise.Nothing new. Typical clickbait. With the added benefit that he gets praised for his ‘honesty and integrity’ for giving those who were never going to buy (or couldn’t buy) the R5 anyway an excuse to make themselves feel good for making the ‘right’ decision and not wanting one.
I am not denying that it is very possible the camera cannot record 8K after a long photoshoot. However, it is the way this information is being presented that makes me question the presenter’s motives. ‘More bad news.’ When you start your message this way, you are essentially flagging it as clickbait in my view.
What is clear about "shooting stills for an hour"?Sounded pretty clear to me. Shooting stills for an hour nixes the ability to shoot 4K HQ. It's enough of an issue, I kinda don't want to know any more, lol.
then this is the camera for you!I often shoot one photo in an hour when hiking. I have spent well over an hour working on single composition.
"Every minute that you spend taking photos with it reduces the time you can shoot HQ video. Today I shot photos for 1 hour..."
Thanks for reading the whole post...then this is the camera for you!I often shoot one photo in an hour when hiking. I have spent well over an hour working on single composition.
im sure you wont have any issues.
some of us might though
Looks like you spent more time thinking about how to defend him than you did reading my post. I never said he was wrong or lying. My issue is the way this information is being presented (reminds me of sensationalist tabloids). I am actually sure he is telling the truth that a photoshoot limits one’s ability to shoot subsequent video.Gerland is one of the most sound voices on technical matters when it comes to Cameras.Nothing new. I would love to do some of my own testing, but Canon hasn’t given me early access to the camera. But you already know that, right?id check out his youtube videos before making such broad statements, or at least post your R5 tests so we can witness your expertise.
A smart move indeed. If this camera does not meet your needs (and it will certainly not be the right device for everyone) then your hard-earned cash would be better spent elsewhere.I have pre ordered this camera (from two places) and will be cancelling monday morning.
I wish there was a fourm that banned people for posting in discussions without adding anything but criticism of that fact people were having a discussion...I wish there was a forum for Canon cameras that banned diehard fans and people easily offended by negative comments about their Canon. I remember seeing a video from PhotoRec years ago where the reviewer was one of the first to negatively comment on the touch bar. Oh man. These people were out for blood. It turned out that he was right. No wonder we can't get honest reviews on YouTube. Say something bad about the camera you're already sold on and it's like you said something mean about their child or something.
I agree that some (many) may overreact. That is certainly part of the problem. However, another part of the problem is how some of these points are brought up.I wish there was a forum for Canon cameras that banned diehard fans and people easily offended by negative comments about their Canon.
