X-T4 - I`m really disappointed

The AF system does not work. And I`m not talking about video, but simple S-AF photos.

It`s a long story and it started with the 18-55mm. I realized that there are many "not sharp" photos, mainly at f5.6 but also at other aperture settings. First I suspected, that it is the OIS and maybe my 18-55mm (whether it was ok on the X-T3) is a bad copy, so I bought a used "Made in Japan" version. Not much changed.

I thought, ok it is a "cheapo kit lens" so I have to live with this, I will avoid f5.6. But then on the weekend, I used my 16-80mm a lot and found many soft (wrongly focused) images. I tested it, and yes the 16-80mm produces similar inconsistency like the 18-55mm. Say at 16mm f4 you focus on a tree appr. 40 meters away and you get some ok and some not ok photos.

Then I activated the distance scale on the LCD and then it was clear: even without the slightest change in focus point positioning, the camera can not focus to the same position. I get readings from 5m to infinity, basically different for each shutter button press. The 18-55mm seems to be worse at 18mm, but even my 16mm f1.4 misses some shots.
With each lens, in MF mode I get sharp (correctly focused) images as long as I nail the focus. And I can close out the OIS: seems to be no influence on the consistency.

After hundreds of test photos and hours of searching for a workaround I gave it up. The X-T4 auto focus system is unusable.

I`m very disappointed, because I wanted to take the X-T4 to our vacation...

Fuji: please fix this ASAP!
