Just FYI, since the LumoPro LP180 was discontinued, Hobby is now recommending that the tool of choice for beginner Strobists is the Godox TT600 and (eyeroll) and an X1T transmitter (although he says he's using an X2T-F with his Fuji gear).  He's updated the "basic spin" post in Lighting 101to reflect this.  No more having to explain why the Phottix Ares/LP180 combo he was previous pushing is a bad idea.
