Thanks for the response Daniel! As mentioned in the main post, the regular 4K recordings look good (camera and memory card). I haven't been able to test it on a TV unfortunately, since I don't currently own one.
What are you using to input into your computer? Does your capture card say explicitly that it supports 4K (and what frame rates and subsampling, I believe G7 outputs 8-bit 4:2:2 over HDMI, although it only records 8-bit 4:2:0). Also check your microhdmi adapter and cable, 4K HDMI can be very fiddly (I tried on my GX85 on my TV and connection can drop easily on a loose connection). You need at minimum something compatible with "High Speed HDMI".
As others mentioned, the easier test would be to try on a 4K TV or monitor just to make sure it's not your capture card or OBS set up.
I would also check if you have any settings set for whichever mode you switch into for the 4K (like Cinelike-D for example).
Hi Jake, thank you for this. The capture card I have is UNISHEEN USB 3.1 Game Capture HDMI Video Adapter Card, the most affordable one I could find. It supports 4K, but no it doesn't clarify the HDMI Input Format detailing the colorspace.
My HDMI cable is indeed High Speed (both of the ones I tried, and they are brand new). I also just checked all the different modes (Cinelike, Natural, etc) and it has the same weird color scheme in all of them, just with diff styles/contrasts of course. Since I dont have the access to a TV for now, I guess the only thing I can narrow it down to is the capture card or my OBS settings. Something tells me it might be the capture card.
