After failing last Sunday morning with the 10-18 in Coyoacán, today I was brave, left the 55-250 at home, and went out with just the 10-18 and 18-55. To improve my odds, I chose an area of the city that I've shot in before with wide-angles with good results. So, here is one attempt at 10 mm. Furthermore, I confirmed that the 10-18 is splash proof.

On my way home, I picked up freshly-baked pastries for breakfast, which we enjoyed with banana smoothies. Sometimes life isn't quite so bad after all.
