BTW, using a 1.4x teleconverter only changes the FL, it doesn’t increase the physical aperture area. So you have the same amount of light per given time as the 500mm, but a shorter shutter due to the longer FL.

For 700mm via 1.4x teleconverter: 0.7 sec x 6261 = 4472 factor of light. So total amount of light has decreased.
