Comet Neowise from Burnaby Mountain. Nikon D850 w 300mm at ISO 3200 1 sec f2.8

Comet Neowise from Vanier Park Nikon D850 w 70mm ISO 3200 1/2 sec @ f2.8 - 6 shot panorama

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I find that the 500 rule (or even 300 rule if you have a higher resolution sensor) will keep the stars from trailing. Ideally you would want to use stacking software to reduce noise and bring up the stars. I wouldn't recommend a teleconverter because you will lose too much light and sharpness.
