Image stabilisation

I hadn't been able to  notice any difference on my Tamron lens with or without VC enabled until tonight. I thought it wasn't working. I don't know what I was doing wrong but anyway, now I've been able to get it to work and the difference is night and day. Any camera shake all but disappears and I can now get sharp images. Yay \o/

I don't know if it's good to rely on image stabilisation but it does seem to make taking sharp photos a whole lot easier. I know all lenses don't have IS. My 50mm doesn't and now I wish it did. But I believe some cameras have IS built in. So what I'm wondering is, would I be happier selling the 5D mk2 and buying something like the 6D mk2 which I believe has IS built in? I presume that would be as good as IS in any lens and I wouldn't even need to turn on my Tamron VC?
