600mm is way, WAY TOO LONG.. With the D7200 I wouldn't shoot more than 135mm to fit the entire comet in the field...

You also need a fast, FAST lens if you're just shooting from a static tripod without tracking...f2.8 or faster, to gather enough light at the very short exposures you'll be forced to use. You should be able to get away with 3.5" exposures, at 135mm, as far north as as the Comet is....... ISO 1600 should be fine...

At 600mm X 1.4, your maximum exposure would be 1/3" to avoid trailing... and shooting at f9 is going to be "No-Go f-slow" ....... I shoot 20", at f4, ISO 800 using my tracker....You would need to shoot for 50"/ ISO 1600 to get what I do in 20 seconds/ISO 800...
