I don't think Canon is going to give us these anytime soon. It would place the M Series too close to the R, and Canon is very strict on differentiation. The M6ii is already very close to the R's in a lot of its capabilities (IME).
That`s Canon`s biggest problem, they`re so terrified of stepping on their own toes that they never manage to step on Fuji's or Sony's
IMO they need to WAKE UP big time ......... It`s Fuji and Sony who are taking sales from them , First the M100 & M50 and then the M6-II has shown potential and that they , with a fleshed out lens range of 11-22 quality could take on Fuji (the only really serious APS_C player), DPAF is challenging Sony already and that's Sonys Only ace card in APS_ C .......... they also need to make an RF to M adapter
Canon just no longer care for ef-m and asp-c segment. They will not challenge Fuji nor Sony, not with aspc sensors. Big reimagine event and not one item announced for ef-m mount. In few years they probably want to sell only pricy RF and not old EF leanses. So to continue with ef-m they would need to create whole set of ef-m. Financial statement clearly defined canon direction to bring full frame for masses, cheap FF body and leanses for every budget. If f11 telefoto does not confirm that then what is?
In the next few years, depending how soon they want to kill m line, the M100 like body will appear in RF mount for 500 $. In the meantime canon will announce more dark "cheap" leanses for people focused on portability. Then it will be natural choice to buy in to the RF mount as everyone will find the right answer to their needs.
Samyang may realise their fe 35 f2.8 pankake for RF and it is not much bigger or heavier than ef-m 22 f2. Even RP body is not much bigger than m50, it's only grip difference. Difference between size will decrease, and you will still have opportunity to buy in to the RF glass.
I have acquired RF24-105 L and is amazing, nothing like it in the ef-m mount. Sharpness, mind-blowing AF speed, quality of course there is downside of the size and weight but I prefer it.
