I seriously love what Canon did yesterday. Great-great move to catch up with Sony. I would say that the only two things that I believe were negative for me is the heating issue and short battery performance. I do not use video, though, so practically I would not be impacted.

I, however, feel that this is not the camera for me. I am into landscapes most of the time and really want to spend money on something that will be perfectly designed for it. IBIS is not needed, high FPS not needed, video not needed.

Pure focus on high MP, sharpness and DR at base ISO.

I think that there is a high probability that Canon will release R5s in 2021. Who is in the same group as me?

I am also landscape shooter currently shooting with a 60MP Sony A7R IV and D850, I do have a 1Dx for events and sports too, I am actually not looking forward to a higher resolution EOS but thinking to get rid of both my Nikon and Sony to get a Fuji GFX100, money wise it will not be that big of a delta at all if I got rid of my Sony A7R IV with bunch of Loxia and Voigtlander and 3 GM lenses. i think I am at the point either live with 45-60MP FF or upgrade to a medium format if I really want to upgrade, a 60 or 70MP FF won't give me that much "upgrade" at all. I have been playing with friend's Fuji GFX100 for a while and I know adding another 20MP to a FF is still not equal a GFX100. i will be just waiting $$$ keep chasing more pixel on the FF bodies. and that's why I have not pre-ordered the R5.

To be honest, for those purely interested in landscape but not ready to drop $10K on a Medium Format body, the Fuji GFX50 is still way better than any FF in the market in my opinion. it's only $4500, only $700 more than the R5. $4500 for a MF, think this way, back in 2004, my 1Ds II cost $8K, almost twice as much as a MF today. Of curse we have to also factor in the cost of the Fuji G mount lens too.
