Chrome 85 will be 64bit only for Android 10 and above. Chrome is currently at Chrome 83 and is available in 32bit (stable version) . Chrome://version states the current version 32bit/64bit on the device.

That sounds good. I wonder if older software will not be compatible.

Google Play Store is also going 64bit.

It will boost performance. Android devices have been 64bit since Android 5.0?

I have a 2 and a half year old Sony Xperia XZ1 which at the time of purchase I thought would get Android 10 but in October/November 2019 when Android 10 was released, Sony announced my just over 2 year old phone would not be getting Android 10 and no further security updates. I am now stuck with Android 9 and one OS upgrade instead of 2. I won't know if older 32bit updates will work in the future.

Sony said in a statement 2+ years ago that flagship models would get 2 years of OS updates.

There is petition to get Sony to release Android 10 for XZ1 and XZ1 Compact users.

Never buy version 1.0 of anything.
Don't it always seem to go
