If you want something from a successor to M5/M6, what do you want to see?
M6 mark II functionality - with IBIS - either a M6 mark III or M5 mark II.
And a 15-60 f/2.8-4 EF-M lens.
I heartily agree about the lens in 15-60 in the f2.8-4 range or even f4 would go a long way to make me more interested in the M system. The M system has long been touted as an ideal travel system, which I would agree with if they only had a good quality zoom in the range of FF equivalent 24-105mm. When I travel the great majority of my photos are taken with my 24-105mm f4 lens. The lack of such as lens makes the M system pretty much a nonstarter for me for travel. Especially when currently I can use my RP camera and the new 24 -105 mm f/4-7.1 is stm lens and have a package that is only 4 to 5 ounces heavier than my Canon M with my current 18-55 mm lens which offers a significantly reduced focal length range and have the benefits of FF as well as five stops of image stabilization. What the M system does have is the 11-22 mm wide angle, which is an ideal travel lens. By itself, however, it is insufficient. I would really like to have an M5 MK ii but would needed to come with something like the 15-60 mm F2 .8-4.
Prior to the introduction of the RF system I had purchased quite a bit of M equipment. As I used it, however, and then began to compare it with my RF images I became increasingly disappointed. A major letdown for me was the 55-200 mm lens, which never produced sharp images for me. From what I understand there is a high degree of copy to copy variation and I had one of the early versions which never could do the job.
As a result of these issues I have pretty much moved to the RF system but still keep watching to see if Canon will come up with an M5 MK ii and a good quality normal zoom lens with sufficient range. I am ever hopeful, but not optimistic.
