How often do you use your 70-200mm Focal length around minimum focus distance?   If you're consistently shooting close, and care about the background rendering, I'd go for the Sigma 70-200 Sport or the Nikon FL version which could be found used for around $1800.
I shot tamron glass for years until I shot with a Nikon lens and realized I was missing out on some AF reliability.   Now that I own the latest Nikon version of the lens, I can never go back to a lens like the Tamron or the Nikon VRii version that focus breathe so drastically at minimum focus distance, mostly due to the difference in background rendering.   I also had the Tamron G2 for a spell and it's paint was very thin and showed significant blemishes very quickly.

So to answer your question - Go for the Sigma or save up for a used Nikon FL.
