Just remember that these two megaprimes have no lens collar, just a tripod mounting foot. This means the camera cannot be rotated on the lens during use to produce portrait oriented images. I'm not sure if anyone else has picked up on this yet. There will be a gnashing of teeth when this becomes apparent. Early tests were with preproduction models and therefore the testers were instructed not to share their results just yet.

Good point, although I propably wouldn't need to shoot portrait oriented in trippd. But my problem might be when carrying the camera/lens in Black Rapid strap. because I like to turn tripod ring to body's "side".

Whatever,, I propably won't buy this lens, because f11 and 6m mfd are quite limiting for birds. And I'm doubtful with STM and BIF... But I'm interested to learn more.
