I assume the only use for these 600mm and 800mm F11 lenses would be perched birds. I can't think of anything else. The moment the birds start to fly, these lenses will be rendered useless as it is hard to imagine shooting BIF at less than 1/500 even for large birds, to keep them sharp. With perched birds, due to excellent Image Stabilization, you may get away with much slower shutter speed, assuming the bird sits and does not move much.

Now of course another question is if the lenses are optically any good. as we remember Canon has some really good DO lenses, and also some duds.

The use case for these lenses is exactly like the use case for Digiscoping, except that there is AF. If you see the cameralabs preview, he actually mentions that these look like spotting scope designs. The aperture is fixed at f11.

you are probably right. Even Canon official photo with 800mm on their official site, has clear motion blur (Just click on it) as they shot it at 1/125. I can't believe Canon left such a blurry photo (look at monkey's eyes) on their official site https://cweb.canon.jp/eos/rf/lineup/rf800-f11/image-sample.html
