(Rant) So suddenly photographyland discovers the value of compact teles?

Just having a look at the coverage of the Canon 600 f/11 and 800 f/11 lenses for RF.

So after years and years and years of griping about how "Olympus lenses are really f/8, why would anybody buy an f/8 lens" we are suddenly discovering that mirrorless cameras actually don't have a problem with slower lenses? Because they have EVFs? Wow! What a revelation. And don't worry, AF still works. You don't say?

And I see the same people trashing MFT teles now lauding Canon for "challenging the paradigm".

Unbelievable.

Oly made a lot of marketing mistakes. But one reason for its demise is the unbelievable spread of misinformation in the photographic community.
