I have the cheapo 400mm f/6.3, the cheapo 500mm f/8, and the reasonably cheap 650-1300mm f/8-f/16.  They all work for me.  Haven't photographed Uranus with it yet though.

Tried a 500mm f/8 mirror lens that I got for $5, and it wasn't even worth that.

Would be nice to have Bigma or a 150-400 with AF, but not at those prices.
