The 14-24/2.8 is sharper and cheaper, and very comfortable on the A7x body. So I think it would come down to this:

If you have a 24-70 and are you comfortable changing lenses a lot get the 12-24 or 14-24. Adds more to your kit, cheaper than the GM. If I were starting from scratch I would get one of these (I have the 16-35/2.8 GM).

Don't like changing lenses and want more versatility when the lens is on your camera? Go for the 16-35/2.8. Takes you from very wide to wide side of normal. Also very high quality.

The Tamron is cheap, light and excellent. Go for this if size, weight or price is your main concern. Seems like a lot of overlap with the excellent 20/1.8G - you get little added on the wide end.

I've never been one to get much "all in one" value our of trinity zooms, so I end up having to do some lens switching.

Still the 16-35 range would come close to all-in-one, starting at wide-of-normal and stretching out wide when architecture and landscapes are the thing.

I suppose I could treat 24 as a crop-able 35, and a 14-24 or 12-24 adds more uncharted territory to my focal length ranges.

I know some people walk around all day with a 24mm lens (or 16mm on APS-C) and use that as a "street-wide" lens that on such a zoom would count as a detail lens compared to the wide end.
