Wide or Tele for the mountains?

I found out recently my girlfriend's uncle owns a mountain (oh, China, you strange strange place) so we'll be staying there for a couple weeks over the summer. naturally it seems like a good opportunity to practice some landscape shooting. I currently have an 18-55 and the Mitakon 35 which are both great but are also not exactly considered 'landscape' lenses. With that in mind I'd like to purchase a lens that is either wider or longer than these two. the question is which way should I go?

i'm currently considering the 12mm Samyang and the 55-200 fuji. while I realize there isn't a 'right' answer, for travelling into the mountains which would you choose? if it helps, my understanding is the mountain will be largely wooded and there will be other mountains nearby.
