mention of the IBIS and the benefit it gives with these older lenses made sense. Two quesitons. What adapter did you use for the minolta lens and do you think you would have had any difficulty making those same shots without the IBIS (i,e, like using an XT-

Most of my adapters are K&F adapters that I order on Ebay for cheap from China. For this particular lens I'm using an MD->XF adapter like this one:

I could have made those shots without IBIS, sure. I've been doing just that with my X-T2 for a long time. However, IBIS just makes everything so much easier. Rather than taking bursts of 10-15 photos of the same subject and spending time at the computer finding the least shaky, most in-focus version of those images, I can usually take one or two shots and very likely both will be sharp and steady.

For shorter focal lengths IBIS is a luxury that reduces the effort on your part for getting usable shots. For longer focal lengths it becomes more of a necessity unless you enjoy going through perhaps 30-40 shots for each subject, and even then not knowing for sure if you nailed the focus at all.
